Luci

'Luci' is best defined as an up-to-date hanging basket. Four metal rings are knotted into a macramé net, forming the structure into a cocoon. A common flowerpot is to be placed into the lower ring. The draining hole is plugged with a cork, offering the possibility to drain superfluous water when needed. The big macramé loops offer the plant enough room to grow past the restrictions of its cocoon, inviting it to climb if wanted- thus rendering cocoon and plant into a single unit. The reduced braiding technology used in the macramé contradicts the common prejudice that this handycraft is old-fashioned and hanging baskets are gadgets solely reserved for grandmothers: 'Luci' resurrects both, the object and the handicraft, catapulting it back into the living room in a new interpretation, including some fresh greenery.
